View once photo
View once photo is a fantastic new feature. As the name suggests, you can only view it one time.
If you want to use this feature, click on the attach button, then go to your photo and video library, select your image. You can see a tiny “1” icon, and if you tap on that it’ll set this photo and message to view once.
You can send the message, and then the other person goes to view the photo. They’ll only see it one time and will never be able to open it again.
This feature works for both photos and videos but, unfortunately, nothing else.
And also, don’t be too sure when sending photos or videos. because the other person can take the screenshot and save it to the gallery. Just keep that in mind when sending photos or videos using the View once photo feature.
2x Speed Voice messages
This new feature is super and freaking. You get a message from a friend and you open it up and check out the voicemail. You realize this voice note is pretty long. Over the side of the voice message has a one-time icon. If you click on that, it’ll speed up the voice message.
You can speed it up even more two times faster. If you can’t see this yet, just make sure your WhatsApp is updated to the latest version
Never miss Group call again
In the past, if you ever missed a group WhatsApp video call, you had to go into the chat message. Tell them to include again in the group video call.
But now it is so much better with this new feature. When you miss Group call, you want to rejoin the call? Well, now you can click on the calls icon, right at the top. You will see active video calls between your friends. And if you tap on it, you’ll be prompted to join.
You’re straight away back in the main video call with all your friends, so no more hanging up and re-dialing.
Animated Stickers
Now those of you who have been using WhatsApp for a long time. Pretty sure you will remember those bland, boring stickers. They just had no movement or anything that interesting.
But now, if you click on the plus icon under stickers, you will see a bunch of new sticker packs, and the excellent part is 99% of them are animated.
There are also so many different packs to choose from, so definitely go ahead and check these out.
Sticker Suggestions
Another cool thing that WhatsApp has done sticker search and suggestions. Go to the stickers section, you’ll see that search icon at the top. You will now see a bunch of sticker suggestions.
So whether you click on love greetings or happy, all the stickers relating to that category will appear. Then you can pick and choose.
If you’re not happy with any of the categories, you can search for what it is you’re looking for, like a laugh, all the stickers with laughing or smiling will appear, and you can send them straight away.
Computer Video Calls
You can execute video and voice calls right from your computer. This feature wasn’t available for the longest time.
So in the top right-hand corner, you’ll now see a video icon. If you tap on that, it’ll start video calling to that contact. It uses your computer’s built-in webcam as well as speakers and microphone.
But you can use just about any webcam or camera by clicking three dots and then choose your camera and microphone output.
Then right next to the video icon, you will see a call icon. Again if you tap on the icon, it’ll call your contact. And the other cool thing is that while on these calls, you can chat with your friends and send many messages at a time.
Image Editor Update
Picture editing feature for desktop users. Attach a picture from your desktop at the top, and you’ll see new tools that you can use to edit your photographs.
So straight from that toolbar, you can add emojis, stickers, text, and even use the paint tool.
Move Chat to android
This new feature is only for iPhone users who want to move the chat to android smartphones.
Go to settings and select chat. At the bottom, you’ll now see the option that says move chat to android. You don’t want to lose any of your previous discussions or messages.
